About the Artist
Debra Edelman is a versatile artist living in the San Fernando Valley. From the age of five she started to develop a love for art and painting which never diminished. Although she has had some formal training throughout the years, Debra is mostly self taught. Her life experiences and the support of those she surrounds herself with, have all contributed to the artist she is today.
Because Debra's work is mostly commissioned work, she has developed a broad spectrum of styles to suit her clientele's desires. Fom impressionistic to tromp L'oeil. From recreation of historic sites, to vivid sea and landscapes, patraiture and childhood whimsy, Debra's works grace many homes from L.A. to Arizona and Nevada. Some of her commercial works include an Italian waterfront scene at the Curves in the Fallbrook mall, and underwater fantasy on the front of a tropical fish store in Santa Maria and a train full of happy children at a pre-school in Laurel Terrace.s
One of her most recent projects was to design and produce the scenery and costumes for an elementary school's production of "the Wizard of Oz".
Combining her clients visions with her own, Debra's favorite projects are those taking their precious photographs and memories to create art that is special and unique to the alone.
Debra Edelman is happiest when she is painting and plans to continue to grow with her craft for the rest of her life.
